City Ballet of Iowa's 10th Anniversary season opens with a performance of classical and contemporary works on Monday, May 21.
Directors Eloy and Sarah Barragán invite you to see their young students of ballet perform choreographed class-work with vibrant music from classical repertory. Our advanced students along with guest artist, Marcus Pei, will demonstrate grace and charm as they dance variations from Flower Festival and Napoli by the 19th-century choreographer, August Bournonville.
Our program will also include a contemporary dance premiere by Matilda Mackey, “music is the space between the notes”, and the local debut of Courante, choreographed by Eloy Barragán.
