Rehearsal and Performance Information:
Thank you for your interest in the upcoming production of Disney’s High School Musical. This show is open to students currently in 7th through 12th grade at the time of auditions. We will also be casting the adult roles with adults. This live production will be produced onstage at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts. There are six performances of Disney’s High School Musical. All actors auditioning must be available for all six performances.
- Friday, July 14 & 21 at 7:30 PM.
- Saturday, July 15 & 22 at 7:30 PM.
- Sunday, July 16 & 23 at 2:00 PM.
Rehearsals start Tuesday, May 16, 2023, and run Monday through Thursday from 7:00 PM–9:30 PM and Sundays from 6:00 PM–9:00 PM. Due to the possibility of conflicts during the week, we may have a few Saturday rehearsals. You will not be called for more than 5 rehearsals in a week. Actors will only be called to rehearsals as needed. Please list all conflicts on your audition form. Any conflicts that come up later or are not listed on the form will have to be negotiated with the director. Tech week begins with loading into the theatre on Saturday, July 8. No absences are permitted during tech week.
Preparing for the Audition:
Please prepare 16–32 bars of a song of your choice that shows off your voice and your ability to tell a story. You are welcome to sing from the musical. Bring sheet music and an accompanist will be provided.
Sign Up:
To audition, you will need to complete two forms using the link below. The first is an audition form, which gathers important information about each actor. The second form is a sign-up time for the audition you will attend. You will need to complete both forms before you can audition. We recommend filling out this form on a desktop or laptop computer.
- Please make sure that you have clicked "submit" on both forms. You may need to return to your audition form and submit it after signing up for an audition time.
City Circle’s High School Musical and Young Footliters Frozen Jr are both casting high school students this summer. It’s not possible for a student to be in both casts due to the overlapping rehearsal schedule. Students are welcome to sign up to audition for one or both productions. However, if you accept a part in High School Musical (Audition dates: March 31 / April 1), you won’t be able to audition for Frozen Jr (Audition dates: April 13-15). We will open those audition slots up for students eligible to be cast. Both productions will be great experiences! |
Tickets for this production will go on sale May 3, 2023 at Noon. Donors and Flex Pass holders may reserve their seats now online or via the Box Office. Check back soon for more details! |
Performances of Disney's High School Musical will take place at the Coralville Center for the Performing Arts.
